ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

A Fun & Engaging K–5 Program Where Kids Can Be Kids!

Igniting passion for learning at a young age

Online elementary school at Ignite Learning Academy includes students in grades K–5. These students work most closely with their parent/coach at home and with the teacher to complete both online and offline learning. While we are an online school, we want to encourage the healthy development of your child—igniting their love for learning and exploration.

Elementary students are invited to attend daily live classes where they can engage with their peers and teacher. Our class sizes are small so your child will receive individualized attention and support.

Positive life experiences contribute heavily to a child's education. For this reason, you will find engaging online curriculum coupled with offline activities where kids can be kids! Our project-based program is engaging, dynamic, and interactive. They will get their hands dirty, complete an experiment (using household items), practice handwriting, and so much more.

Having Fun Is Part of Being a Kid

Our active curriculum allows us to make a connection with children in a way they're capable of retaining information—by experiencing the world! Nurturing children's curiosity has been proven to accelerate their learning, furthering their language skills, developing their social and emotional skills, and fostering their imagination.

Elementary at ILA isn't about screens replacing childhood—it's about blending hands-on exploration with high-quality instruction so kids can discover, play, and grow while still mastering core academic skills.

Daily Live Classes

Elementary students are invited to attend LIVE daily small-group classes in our online teaching platform (similar to Zoom) with their grade-level peers and teacher every day. While these classes are optional, we highly recommend they attend!

Students in grades K–1 experience circle time where they complete daily activities including the calendar, weather, work on sight words and phonics, read books, and even engage in show-and-tell and other fun activities! Students in grades K–1 receive a Circle Time Kit to supplement their learning.

Students in grades 2–5 work on different topics each day to extend their learning within the curriculum, while engaging students in activities and peer-to-peer learning.

Elementary Students Love School Community

Bruno the Bulldog makes frequent appearances and even pops up around the country as our students color their own rendition of our beloved mascot. Students can attend live clubs including arts & crafts, drawing, LEGO, cooking, Minecraft, fitness, music, and more!

School assemblies are held to promote the community among students in the school, and virtual (and sometimes in-person) events and field trips are held throughout the year.

Online Learning in Elementary School

ILA Kindergarten graduate

Elementary students are placed into the following courses based on age and ability level:

Language Arts
Math
Science
Social Studies
Electives (Health/PE, Fine Arts, Technology, Foreign Language)

Daily commitment: Students should plan to spend approximately 1.5 – 3 hours completing their schoolwork each day.

With the guidance of their parent/coach and teacher, your child will develop time-management skills, accountability, and independent and investigative thinking—all critical skills they will need throughout their lifetime. Online learning provides you and your child with greater flexibility and a strong foundation built on a love for learning.
