Student Engagement

While this is a virtual school, we don't expect students to spend all day staring at words on a screen. Our courses are engaging and dynamic—students complete a combination of online and offline work. (Younger students have more offline work than older students.)

Instruction is delivered through written format, audio clips, and a wide variety of video. Curriculum is designed to support all learning styles, with hands-on experiments, projects, novels, and writing assignments outside of the online classroom.

Getting Acquainted

Upon enrollment, a school advisor will contact the parent or assigned coach to walk through the tools, resources, courses, and platforms used at Ignite Learning Academy:

• Course access
• Assignment submission
• Assignment feedback (written, audio, or video)
• Communication practices for the teacher / student / family relationship
• How to contact teachers and school staff for support
• Overview of services, clubs, and age-appropriate opportunities

School Assemblies

School assemblies are held at the start of the year and at varied times throughout each semester. These assemblies allow students to see their school administrators, teachers, and support staff via a web conferencing tool.

Each assembly is recorded and available for future viewing—so you can still engage even if you can't attend live.
