Our Rich Heritage

Emmanuel Lutheran School (ELS) began in 1958 as a ministry of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. For over 65 years, we have provided quality Christian education to families in Asheville, North Carolina.

Foundation and Growth

Starting with just a handful of students, ELS has grown to serve children from infants through eighth grade. The church continues to provide both prayerful and financial support of the school, maintaining our strong foundation in Lutheran Christian education.

Commitment to Excellence

Throughout our history, Emmanuel Lutheran School has maintained a commitment to academic excellence, spiritual development, and community service. Our dual accreditation through National Lutheran School Accreditation and Advanced Ed Accreditation demonstrates our ongoing dedication to providing the highest quality education.

Looking Forward

As we move forward, Emmanuel Lutheran School remains committed to our original mission: preparing children For Today, For Tomorrow, Forever. We continue to adapt and enhance our educational offerings while remaining rooted in our core values and faith tradition.
