At Emmanuel Lutheran School, our elementary program provides a strong academic foundation in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment. We focus on developing the whole child—intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically.
Academic Excellence
Our elementary curriculum follows North Carolina State Standards while integrating Christian values across all subject areas. Students receive instruction in:
- Language Arts: Reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and handwriting
- Mathematics: Number sense, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning
- Science: Hands-on experiments and exploration of God's creation
- Social Studies: History, geography, and citizenship
- Religion: Bible stories, memory verses, and Christian character development

Small Class Sizes
With average class sizes of 10–20 students, our teachers provide individualized attention to help each child reach their full potential.
Technology Integration
Each elementary student has access to computers or tablets during the school day, enhancing their learning experience through appropriate educational technology.
Our elementary school day runs from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Doors open at 7:30 AM, and aftercare is available until 5:30 PM for an additional fee.
Our elementary classrooms typically have 10–20 students per class, allowing personalized instruction for every child.
Yes, elementary students follow our dress code policy. Information is provided upon enrollment and available in our school handbook.

We use a combination of formative and summative assessments. Report cards are issued quarterly, and parent-teacher conferences occur twice per year. Standardized testing begins in 3rd grade.

Faith is woven throughout the curriculum through chapel, daily devotions, prayer, and integration of Christian values in all subjects.
Students enjoy various field trips and academic fairs, with a special 4th-grade trip to the Outer Banks each spring.
Yes — doors open at 7:30 AM and aftercare runs until 5:30 PM, including snack time, homework help, and games.
Elementary students participate in Art, Music, Physical Education, STEAM, and Spanish classes taught by specialized teachers.
Our teachers differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs. Starting in 2025–26, a dedicated teacher supports students needing extra help at no charge to parents, and Orton-Gillingham tutoring is available for reading support.
Students may bring lunch from home or purchase hot lunch at school. Special restaurant lunches are offered Wednesdays and Fridays. Charges are applied to FACTS accounts.
